Terms of Use

These conditions govern use of this website. Accessing a page, reading its content, or submitting a search means that you accept them. If you disagree with any condition, discontinue use of the site.

NO FCRA USE. This privately operated website has no affiliation with a local, Connecticut, or federal government body. Neither the site nor its advertising partners offers a service intended for credit, employment, insurance, tenant-screening, or another purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The site helps readers locate criminal-record resources serving the geographic Hartford County area. It is neither a private-investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site with no government connection. It neither stores official criminal records nor retrieves records, conducts official checks, or files documents for a visitor.

Its role is to direct readers to municipal police records divisions, Connecticut Superior Court, DESPP's State Police Bureau of Identification, CT DOC, the Connecticut Sex Offender Registry, and outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Break any federal, state, or local law while using this site
  • Use information you find here to stalk, harass, or threaten anyone
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions on content from this site
  • Try to break into our systems or gain access you are not supposed to have
  • Run bots, scrapers, or automated tools against our pages
  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information from this site or a linked tool may not be used to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against anyone; such conduct may also violate law. Connecticut restricts misuse of Connecticut Sex Offender Registry information. Registry data exists for public-safety awareness, not vigilantism or discriminatory treatment.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

We are not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. We do not generate background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports of any kind. Neither we nor our advertising partners provide services built for screening job applicants, reviewing rental applications, calculating insurance rates, or judging creditworthiness. You agree not to use data from this site or any linked tool to:

  • Decide whether to hire or fire someone
  • Screen potential renters or housing applicants
  • Judge creditworthiness or set insurance premiums
  • Determine who qualifies for licenses, permits, or government programs
  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules

An authorized check for a regulated purpose must be obtained through DESPP's State Police Bureau of Identification or an FCRA-compliant screening company.

5. No Legal Advice

Nothing here is legal advice. General explanations of Hartford-area records cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, erasure, Clean Slate, or sealing rule applies to a particular situation. Consult a Connecticut-licensed attorney for that advice.

6. No Warranties

Everything on this site is provided "as is." We do not guarantee that:

  • The information here is accurate, complete, or current at any given time
  • The site will stay up and running without interruptions
  • Our pages are free of errors, bugs, or security holes
  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate

Criminal-record status changes as charges are filed or dismissed and records are sealed or erased. Updates may lag, and no content here is an official statement from a police department, court, DESPP, or other government agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

We link to sheriff's office sites, court portals, state agency pages, legal aid organizations, and outside search services across this site. Clicking one of those links moves you off our platform and onto one we have no control over. We are not responsible for their content, how they handle data, what they charge, or whether their site stays online. Check their terms before using them.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Hartford County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, distributed, modified, or used to create derivative material without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for damages that come from using this site - including decisions made based on information found here or through any linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to hold us harmless from any claim, legal action, or demand that stems from how you used this site or from breaking these terms. That includes covering our legal fees and related costs.

11. Governing Law

Connecticut law governs these terms, including applicable provisions of the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act, Connecticut General Statutes § 42-110a et seq. Any dispute related to site use must be filed in a court located in Connecticut.

12. Changes to These Terms

We can update these terms whenever we see fit. New terms go into effect the moment they appear on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We can limit or block your access to this site at any time, for any reason, with no warning.

14. Severability

If a court rules that any part of these terms is invalid or unenforceable, the rest stand. The problem section gets adjusted only as much as needed to make it work.
