Why We Built This Site
Connecticut abolished county government, so Hartford County has no sheriff, county criminal clerk, or county jail. Municipal police retain their own incident and arrest reports; Connecticut Superior Court maintains charges, docket events, and dispositions; DESPP's State Police Bureau of Identification maintains the central criminal-history repository; and CT DOC operates custody facilities and the inmate locator. We organize the official contacts, request routes, fees, and search systems for these separate layers.
What You Will Find Here
- Case guidance: how to search and interpret court case records filed in Connecticut Superior Court locations serving Hartford-area municipalities
- Official check instructions: the name-and-date-of-birth and fingerprint routes offered through DESPP, SPBI, and the Connecticut Criminal History Request System
- Agency contacts: how to reach municipal police records divisions, criminal clerks, CT DOC, and statewide record systems
- Record-relief orientation: where Connecticut erasure, Clean Slate, record sealing, and absolute-pardon procedures begin
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site, unaffiliated with any Connecticut court, police department, correctional facility, or state agency. Its limits include the following:
- We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
- We cannot file erasure petitions, records requests, or other paperwork on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
An official copy must come from the agency that maintains it, such as the arresting police department, Connecticut Superior Court, or DESPP/SPBI. This site can identify a likely source but cannot issue the document.
Search Partners
Third-party providers power search boxes on some pages and control their own services, prices, and results. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may generate a referral fee that supports free access to this guide. We neither set the provider's charges nor determine what its search returns.
